Hamilton Foreign Trade Zone

The Hamilton Foreign Trade Zone Point provides businesses direct access to several Provincial and Federal agencies dedicated to assist, promote and grow international trade and global market reach. 

Working with the Hamilton Foreign Trade Zone ensures all goods movement operators are available to assist in the export of products whether by air, sea, rail or road.  Whether you’re looking for duty and tax relief programs, municipal programs, information or assistance with supply chain, the Hamilton Foreign Trade Zone is here to facilitate your request.

CBSA – Customs Tariff 2020 For importing goods into Canada, please consult the most recent Canadian Customs Tariff chapter by chapter in document format. The customs tariff can also help find HS codes for imports or exports.

Canada Tariff Finder This is a free tool that allows Canadian exporters to check the tariffs applicable to a specific good in a foreign market. The focus is on countries where Canada has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in place. This is a collaborative initiative of BDC, EDC and The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, Global Affairs Canada.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

The United States of America is Canada’s largest export market.  With over 900,000 commercial trucks crossing the New York State border annually, communication and process is vital to the success of exporting product.

U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection issues binding advance rulings and other legal decisions in connection with the importation of merchandise into the United States.  Search the Customs Ruling Online System (CROSS), to review rulings on product or to apply in advance for products to be imported in the U.S.A.
