Facing a global pandemic and preparing to stave off the next, McMaster University announced the creation of NEXUS – The Pandemic Readiness Centre. This plan calls for 300,000 square feet of research and innovation and banding together an international team of scientists from varying disciplines focused on managing and thwarting future pandemics. The space will also include a full service restaurant, café, market, shops, meeting spaces and other vendors.
