McMaster Innovation Park creates the North America Life Sciences Capital Markets Advisory Council
On November 2, 2021, McMaster Innovation Park announced the establishment of the North America Life Sciences Capital Markets Advisory Council.
In the words of MIP’s CEO Ty Shattuck, the Council will “help identify, attract, grow and retain life sciences companies in Canada by bringing life sciences innovation together with the right sources of capital at the stage when that capital is needed, and in the quantum required.”
The Council will further work to break down barriers, build connections, and support market capitalization and growth of Canadian intellectual property in the life sciences. Though the life sciences are a pillar of the Hamilton economy, the sector is also one that is spread out across all of Canada. As such, the new Council will work on the national stage as it supports all life science companies that seek to scale-up and access growth capital.
