Heddle Shipyards to Build $3.3-million Ferry

Hamilton’s Heddle Shipyards will build a $3.3-million ferry for the Township of Frontenac

Hamilton’s Heddle Shipyards, which operates at Pier 14 on Hillyard Street, has secured a contract with the Township of Frontenac to build a new $3.3-million ferry.

The project is expected to create ten new jobs for the Hamilton company, while supporting transportation, logistics, and tourism in Frontenac.

Construction on the ferry is expected to begin immediately, with an estimated completion date of September of 2022.
