The Musicians Fair Payment Policy will ensure that musicians hired at City-led events will be pay fair wages for their performances.
The policy is meant to prop up reliable and respectable payment for performers hired for events led by the City. This will ensure that performers are paid, at minimum, the current minimum annual rates established by the Canadian Federation of Musicians who are represented locally by the Hamilton Musicians Guild Local 293. Hamilton is first city in Canada to implement this policy and it goes to show how much the City understands and supports musicians and performers.
