FOREIGN TRADE ZONE
Hamilton Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ)
One of Canada’s leading multi-modal cities, Hamilton is a prime gateway for Canadian businesses looking to export their product. This fact is enhanced with the Government of Canada identifying the City of Hamilton as a federally designated Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) point in collaboration with the Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority and the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport.
Hamilton’s Foreign Trade Zone point aims to help businesses expand their reach to international markets through a combination of tax and duty relief programs, tariff exemptions and exclusive concierge investment services by a dedicated group of sector experts. These individuals are ready to assist businesses with inquiries, information, programs and incentives to advance and expand international trade opportunities. Hamilton’s FTZ point also provides direct contact and programs offered by the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) as well as the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and various Federal and Provincial programs that may be available.
The Hamilton Foreign Trade Zone point, along with world-class goods movement facilities and infrastructure, makes this city the ideal location to connect your business to the global market.
Hamilton is the ideal location for business and international trade. The city is home to two international border services available 24/7 (Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority, John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport), Canada’s busiest expedited overnight cargo airport, the busiest and largest port in Ontario and ample connectivity to both CN and CP rail lines and intermodal services. Hamilton also has two expressways with connectivity to major Provincial highway systems and is centrally located within an hour of Toronto and New York State borders.
Hamilton’s Foreign Trade Zone offers businesses rapid and front-of-the-line services and direct access to agencies and programs that specialize in export and development.
