E.R. Monaco Young Entrepreneurs Awards
This youth program gives high school students the opportunity to enhance their skills through the development of a professional business plan. Our competition is designed to challenge your student’s entrepreneurial talents. The top 5 business plans will receive a cash prize for their efforts.

Young entrepreneur’s awards!
The young entrepreneur’s awards are open to youth between the ages of 15-20, individuals attending a high school within the Hamilton area, and groups of no more than 3 students (entries may also be submitted by individuals).
Students will create their own business scenarios and ensure that all components of the business plan are completed. Students must create a start-up business (not existing or franchise). Business plans will be evaluated by local volunteer professionals and the top participants will be invited to the Hamilton E.R. Monaco Young Entrepreneurs Awards finals.
What is the Purpose of the Young Entrepreneurs Awards?
It gives students and young entrepreneurs the opportunity to:
- Develop business skills through the development of professional business plans
- Develop presentation, networking, interpersonal, and team-building skills
- Receive guidance and feedback on their proposed venture idea and gain outside perspective on its viability.
- Be recognized by organizations within the geographic region.

- Download and complete the Student Submission Form
- Download and complete the Business Plan Template
- Email completed Submission Form and Business plan to hbc@hamilton.ca. Be sure to include in the email subject line “2026 E.R. Monaco Application Submission”.
