Small Business Week – Thinking Big, Supporting Small: Fuelling Business Decisions with Data

October 19, 2022 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm

Location: Online

About this event:

Thinking Big, Supporting Small: Fuelling Business Decisions with Data | Voir grand, soutenir petit : Alimenter les décisions commerciales grâce aux données

Join us for a special one-hour session with the Chief Economist from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Stephen Tapp, and the Chief Economist from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Pierre Cléroux, as they discuss how data can be used to help small business owners make better decisions and improve their performance.

Using the Canadian Chamber’s Business Data Lab’s latest outcomes and BDC’s recent data analytics, this session will focus on how data can reinforce entrepreneurs’ abilities to recover and grow their businesses by:

  • Predicting and identifying important trends and opportunities to remain ahead of their competition by forecasting consumer behaviours and market conditions
  • Providing a unique and timely blend of data sources and value-added insights that can place SMEs at the leading edge of economic analysis rather than waiting for traditional data releases

Our guest speakers will discuss how small business has been affected by the pandemic and how they can use data to pivot to survive. We will also host a post-discussion Q & A session with participants.
