The Community Market Accelerator prepares entrepreneurs to confidently enter local markets through practical training, guided mentorship, and hands-on selling experience that reduces risk and supports long-term growth.

Program Information:
Preparing new entrepreneurs for market entry by combining practical learning with hands-on experience.
The Community Market Accelerator equips participants with the practical skills, guidance, and hands-on experience needed to succeed. Entrepreneurs receive one-on-one mentorship, interactive training, and the unique opportunity to test and sell their products from a shared stall at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market.
This real-world experience allows participants to engage customers, refine their offerings, and build confidence in a supportive environment. By combining learning with action, the Community Market Accelerator helps participants gain the knowledge and practical experience to launch, grow, and thrive in local marketplaces.

Program Eligibility:
This initiative is designed for entrepreneurs who:
- Are launching a new product or strengthening an existing handmade offering (e.g., pre-packaged food and beverage, handmade goods, wellness products, artisan items, fashion, home décor, and more
- Are exploring local markets, craft fairs, pop-ups, or festivals as their first retail channels
- Want to test product viability, refine pricing, and build sales confidence
- May face barriers such as limited market experience or access to networks
- Can commit to active participation, including a minimum one-month presence at the shared stall (four days per week, Wednesday–Saturday)
- Are prepared to collaborate with other businesses in a shared market stall environment (up to 4 businesses at a time)
Note: Applications will be ongoing as needed. Priority will be given to youth business owners (15-29), and Summer Company participants (post and present).
Program Outcomes:
Participants will walk away with:
- A clear understanding of how to take a product to market
- Confidence pitching and selling to real customers
- A refined pricing and cost strategy
- Practical experience at markets or events
- Expanded network and ongoing peer support
- A plan for future growth and channels (e-commerce, retail, pop-ups)
