The Port of Hamilton has seen agri-food cargo rise from about 9% to 40% of total volume, alongside major new developments including a sugar refinery, rail transload facility, expanded flour milling operations, and a large-scale acid production plant—highlighting the city’s strengthening role as a food processing and logistics hub.
