The Barton/Kenilworth Planning and Building Fees Grant Program provides grants that rebate specific planning and building application fees for approved development-related projects. The program aims to encourage the redevelopment of underutilized properties and support improvements that enhance the maintenance, functionality, viability, accessibility, and aesthetics of existing commercial, mixed-use, multi-residential, or institutional buildings within the Barton Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North commercial corridors, as identified in the Barton and Kenilworth Commercial Corridors Study.
Eligibility
Applies to the following Community Improvement Project Areas: Barton Village Commercial District, the Barton Street East and Kenilworth Avenue North Strategic Commercial Corridors, and Properties within the Downtown Hamilton Commercial District, which front on Barton Street East between James Street North and Victoria Avenue North.
Amount
Grant up to a maximum of $25,000 for eligible planning application fees and a maximum of $25,000 for eligible building application fees for a total maximum grant of $50,000. For maximum amounts and details, please refer to the full program description.
