The Revitalizing Hamilton Tax Increment Grant Program provides financial incentives to property owners within strategic commercial districts to develop, redevelop, or improve properties and buildings. The program aims to support the broader revitalization of these districts while generating new municipal property tax revenue through increased property assessments.
Eligibility
Applies to the following Community Improvement Project Areas: Ancaster, Barton Village, Binbrook, Concession Street, Downtown Hamilton, Dundas, Locke Street, Ottawa Street, Stoney Creek, Waterdown, Westdale Commercial Districts, or Mount Hope/Airport Gateway, and buildings designated under Part IV or Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act.
Amount
Provides grants based on the actual increase in municipal property taxes resulting from property improvements or developments. Grants are distributed over a maximum of four annual payments and require City Council approval. For maximum amounts and details, please refer to the full program description.
