The program provides financial support for both feasibility studies and construction projects aimed at converting former office spaces into residential or hotel units within the Central Business District.

The grant applies to property owners or long-term tenants of office buildings in the Central Business District of Downtown Hamilton who plan to convert them into at least 10 eligible residential or hotel units in compliance with city zoning and revitalization guidelines.
Property owners or long-term tenants (with leases of at least 99 years) of buildings previously used as office space located within the Central Business District of Downtown Hamilton, who propose to convert the space into at least 10 residential or hotel units that meet the city’s zoning and program requirements.
Matching grants for eligible feasibility studies up to a maximum of $20,000 and grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 per eligible unit or hotel room up to a maximum of $200,000.
