Provides financial assistance through low-interest loans and grants to support the enhancement or development of dwelling units.

This program aims to create new or improved housing opportunities by converting non-residential spaces into dwelling units, renovating existing units, adding new units, including accessory dwelling units and laneway housing, and developing new units on vacant land, surface parking lots, or by redeveloping existing buildings.
Applies to the following Community Improvement Project Areas: Ancaster, Barton Village, Binbrook, Concession Street, Downtown Hamilton, Dundas, Locke Street, Ottawa Street, Stoney Creek, Waterdown, and Westdale Commercial Districts. It also includes all Strategic Commercial Corridors, properties, and buildings designated under Parts IV or V of the Ontario Heritage Act within the Hamilton Municipal Boundary.
$20,000 per dwelling unit to a maximum of $600,000 per property. The maximum grant amount available for professional and City of Hamilton fees is only $5,000.
