The Commercial District Housing Opportunities Loan Program provides financial assistance through low-interest loans to encourage the development and improvement of dwelling units. The program aims to create new or upgraded housing options that support local commercial district populations and strengthen demand for nearby businesses and services.
Eligibility
Applies to properties located within the following Community Improvement Project Areas: Ancaster, Barton Village, Binbrook, Concession Street, Downtown Hamilton, Dundas, Locke Street, Ottawa Street, Stoney Creek, Waterdown, and Westdale Commercial Districts, as well as all Strategic Commercial Corridors and buildings designated under Parts IV or V of the Ontario Heritage Act.
Amount
The maximum Loan amount is the lesser of $1,000,000 or 25% of the construction budget for the development. For details, please refer to the full program description.
