The Downtown Hamilton Office Conversion Grant Program provides financial incentives to support the creation of new housing units and/or hotel accommodations within all or a portion of existing purpose-built office buildings located in Downtown Hamilton’s Central Business District.
Eligibility
Property owners or long-term tenants (with leases of at least 99 years) of buildings previously used as office space located within the Central Business District of Downtown Hamilton, who propose to convert the space into at least 10 residential or hotel units that meet the city’s zoning and program requirements.
Amount
Matching grants for eligible feasibility studies up to a maximum of $20,000 and grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 per eligible unit or hotel room up to a maximum of $2 million. For details, please refer to the full program description
