About Founder Fundamentals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

YSpace, York University\u2019s innovation hub is partnering with the Markham Small Business Centre (MSBC), Richmond Hill Small Business Enterprise Centre (RHSBEC), Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre (VBEC), York Small Business Enterprise Centre (YSBEC) to host a 12-week educational program called Founders Fundamentals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founders Fundamental is a regional program designed to help you kick start your entrepreneurial career. Whether you are a professional services company, brick and mortar or technology startup, the program aims to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Spanning across topics such as social media marketing, to grant writing, to bootstrapping and more this program provides a wide range of learning. In addition, the program connects you with local resources within your municipality such as your local Small Business Centres and more. Individuals that complete all 12-weeks of learning will receive an Innovation York Certificate of Completion from YSpace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event will provide the participants with an overview of Intellectual Property (IP) law, with a focus on strategies. Learn how to make practical IP protection decisions balancing legal, technical and business objectives. On the agenda: Confidential Info & Trade Secrets, Privacy & Cybersecurity, Copyright & Trademarks, Patents & Designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Presenters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bhupinder Randhawa<\/a> is a partner with Bereskin & Parr LLP<\/a>, and a registered US and Canadian patent agent. He is the leader of the firm\u2019s Electrical & Technology practice group, and co-leader of the Artificial Intelligence practice group. Bhupinder\u2019s practice focuses on patent and technology law, particularly obtaining, evaluating and leveraging intellectual property rights for technology clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reshika Dhir<\/a>\u00a0is a partner with\u00a0Bereskin & Parr LLP<\/a>, and a registered US and Canadian patent agent. Her practice focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications with a particular focus on electrical and software-based innovations. Reshika has gained valuable industry experience while working as a physical designer in semiconductor industry and a system designer in nuclear industry. Reshika enjoys learning about new technologies and helping startups and high-tech entrepreneurs with developing an effective IP portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
