OBIAA Announces June 21st Re-Opening of the Digital Transformation Grant Portal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Ontario BIA Association (OBIAA), in partnership with the Toronto Association of BIAs (TABIA), today announced the Digital Transformation Grant (DTG) program is now accepting applications<\/strong>. With support from the Government of Ontario, the Digital Transformation Grant (DTG) provides up to $2,500 to qualifying brick-and-mortar small businesses<\/strong> to help cover the cost of adopting digital tools and technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new application window opens on June 21, 2022, and closes on October 31, 2022<\/strong>. A second application window will open in January 2023 and continue to September 30, 2023<\/strong> (or until grant funds are fully exhausted), allowing more qualified small businesses time to apply for the DTG and execute their projects. Commercial small businesses eligible to apply for the DTG must be registered in Ontario, have a brick-and-mortar location, and employ under 50 employees. Digital Main Street – Helping Small Businesses Grow by Adopting Digital Tools and Technologies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Small businesses form the economic engines and the social backbones of our communities. These small businesses have faced the challenges of the pandemic and are now positioning for an increasingly digital future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ontario\u2019s small businesses must now think about how to promote their goods and services online, leverage e-commerce platforms, and streamline their operational processes with digital tools to stay competitive and succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, recognizing the need to help main street small businesses be more resilient, the Government of Ontario funded the expansion of Digital Main Street, a multi-faceted program to help main street small businesses adopt and use digital technologies more effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020-21, as small businesses faced unprecedented challenges, the Government of Ontario and the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) stepped up with new funding to extend the successful Digital Main Street program to more small businesses across Ontario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, from April 2022 \u2013 March 2024, the Government of Ontario has expanded the Digital Main Street Ontario Grants program once more, partnered with the Toronto Association of BIAs, and administered by the Ontario BIA Association. This additional $40 million investment will better position Ontario businesses to compete at home and abroad by providing them with access to training, grants, and Digital Service Squad support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
