At this time we are seeking&nbsp;<strong>new RETAIL businesses with commercial locations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program offers opportunities for FREE training in Business Planning, Marketing, and Social Media, as well as Bookkeeping and Financial Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PLUS, there is an ongoing FREE mentorship opportunity AND funding opportunities of up to $5,000 for eligible businesses approved into the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Individual Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>18 years of age and over<\/li><li>Ontario resident \u2013 living in Hamilton<\/li><li>Canadian Citizen\/Permanent Resident<\/li><li>Not attending school full-time; not working outside the business more than 20 hours per week<\/li><li>Operating a full-time business in Hamilton (35+ hours per week)<\/li><li>Not enrolled in another self-employment program<\/li><li>The applicant is fully responsible for the ongoing operation of the business and is the majority shareholder (at least 50%) in the case of a corporation<\/li><li>Agree to follow all government rules and regulations for operating a business<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Business Activity Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Business is in the start-up and\/or operational phase (less than 1 year in age)<\/li><li>Businesses must have a commercial retail location<\/li><li>Businesses must be sales-ready within the funding timeframe<\/li><li>Business is an independent business venture<\/li><li>Business does not rely on commission sales<\/li><li>Business is not an existing franchise operation<\/li><li>Business operates at arm\u2019s length from family business ventures<\/li><li>Business operates full-time as defined in the business plan (35+ hours per week)<\/li><li>Business must have less than 3 employees<\/li><li>Business maintains its own books and records<\/li><li>Business maintains a separate business bank account<\/li><li>Business does not have any municipal or provincial regulations (for example culinary or food-based businesses)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The next application deadline is&nbsp;11:59 pm<strong> on May 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*** Registration is required.
