The My Main Street Local Business Accelerator is a data-driven community economic development program focused on revitalizing main streets with a healthy retail mix while providing residents, new entrepreneurs, and existing businesses with economic opportunities in their main street community.

Meet The Communities Ambassadors:
As an entrepreneur who started a home-based floral design business, grew it into a multi-awarding winning brick and mortar shop, then successfully sold it in the span of five years, Katherine is uniquely positioned to communicate with and help small business owners. She was able to effectively scale up her business in and out of three lockdowns through strong customer and supplier relationships, social media engagement, and pivoting to more unique and varied product offerings.
Katherine spent most of her career as a Project/Account Manager in the pharmaceutical industry working on the agency side in medical education and advertising.
She holds a B Sc in Biochemical Pharmacology, a Minor in Marketing, and a certificate in Professional Floral Design from the Canadian Institute of Floral Design.

Dave Millard is a life-long Hamiltonian, born, raised, and educated in our Great (and Ambitious) City, and very proud of it! Having worked for many years in Toronto, the opportunity to contribute to his own local communities here in Hamilton through the My Main St. Program as an Ambassador, was something that appealed to him on many levels.
The great saying, “if we each do a little, we ALL do a LOT” resonates with Dave and as part of the amazing Team with the City of Hamilton, and the My Main Street Program, positive results are “sure to be the outcome” in his humble opinion.

David first came to the City of Hamilton to attend McMaster University where he graduated from the Engineering and Society program. Since graduation, he has worked around the world in the heavy industry market and had the opportunity to reside in Germany and Sweden before returning home to Canada in 2011.
He is currently a member of the Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair, Theatre Ancaster, Rotary Club of Ancaster AM, Hamilton Bay Sailing Club, and the Glanford Curling Club. He is excited to be working with the Hamilton Business Center team to support our small businesses as part of the My Main Street Program.

Kevin Dunphy is a new Business Development Officer with the Hamilton Business Centre.
Recently, he developed an in-depth outreach strategy for a public library, with special care taken towards accessibility, and built detailed primary and secondary strategies for a British Columbia-based corporation. He has a finance degree and is working towards becoming a certified data analyst.

Although raised and educated in Toronto, along with post-secondary education in the United States, Derek now resides in Hamilton and brings 15 years of experience assisting businesses in the area of technology, media, and marketing, previously as a Corporate Sales Rep. and Business Development Manager.
As a small business owner himself, Derek understands the unique challenges that businesses face and the importance of healthy businesses in order to stimulate economic growth for the local economy. In his free time, you can find Derek coaching his children’s youth hockey team and hiking Hamilton’s nearby trails with his wife.

Born and raised in Hamilton, ON, Danielle is formally educated in Digital Marketing and Strategic Communications and brings numerous years of hands-on experience.
Over the past few years, while employed with The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Danielle has provided digital transformation coaching and one-on-one consultations to local businesses. Danielle also played a vital role in helping distribute $1 million+ in grant funding to local small businesses through the Digital Main Street (DMS) Ontario Grants Program (OGP).
Danielle looks forward to the opportunity to help revitalize our local business communities and continue to assist Hamilton’s entrepreneurs through the My Main Street program.
