Accessibility

The World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI) http://www.w3c.org/WAI/ identifies the overall goal of the standards are to:

“Create Web content that is perceivable, operable and understandable by the broadest possible range of users and compatible with their wide range of assistive technologies, now and in the future”

This standard has been widely adopted, including by the Government of Canada and is consistent with goals of the Ontario with Disabilities Act (ODA).

InvestinHamilton.ca will generally adhere to the Priority 1 and 2 checkpoints outlined by the WAI. In addition, InvestinHamilton.ca will explore ways to enhance accessibility by working towards compliance on some Priority 3 checkpoints.
